What to do in Branson in January and February

The months of January and February are quiet time months in Branson, when our normally bustling tourist town becomes more like a ghost town.  Many of the shows take the time off and with less people in town, some restaurants, shops and other things to see close down to save money on operating costs. while there is less to do, that doesn’t mean there’s NOTHING to do. the Titanic Museum and attraction stays open with shorter hours, but it is still a fun place to enjoy history and find out if you survived.  Your boarding pass for the titanic has a passenger or crew member’s name.  as you stroll through the museum, keep your eyes open.  you may see pictures of your person or see personal items or read quotes. The National Tiger Sanctuary.  if the weather is nice, spend some time out doors and meet the Tigers at the Sanctuary.  They are well cared for by the staff  who do a wonderful job of educating guests that visit. i definitely recommend doing the feeding tour.  just with my animals at home, different parts of their personality come out when there are treats available.  Lazy tigers may do tricks in order to get a little bite of chicken from the tour guide. note: The tiger sanctuary is closed mondays  and tuesdays. Except in the case of three day weekends (Check federal holiday schedules), when they do open up monday  for tours.   even tigers need a weekend to relax and destress. the best time to do the tour is at 4 pm.  the regular awareness tour is not available at this time, because feeding time is normally at 4 pm.   The reason I say this is the best time is the lions start caroling when it gets dusk and you may luck into being seranaded during your time there as it starts to get dark fairly early in winter. there are also a  few fantastic shows happening during the quiet time: Mike walker: Lasting Impressions is one of the most entertaining. He has a talent for Impressions… if you close your eyes, you could imagine the person right in Front of you. He also has a great sense of humor. Be prepared to giggle during the show (M, W, F @ 2 pm in January). The grand jubilee and comedy jamboree at the grand country music hall are also graeat choices for country music and a bit of  humor. And for something different check out Amazing pets. at 10 am-  wake up to trained dogs, cats, and birds. there are many other things to do to keep you occupied, but those are my picks for the best choices.
